It doesn't swallow threw a finger blast, information technology was designed to melt finger nail mucilage, aka super mucilage. Being a mechanic, I accept never Seen finger blast shine remover cook plastic, non the apparently erstwhile formula.. information technology'southward what I would do. Actually, now that I think of it, I use fiber nail smoothen remover, to get the grease off of my phone, I take the white one and existence a mechanic, it gets greasy in about the first x mins of my work day

I gauge it depends how the plastic was fabricated, certain plastics do deteriorate when you use nail smoothen on them. Done information technology earlier

I unremarkably use armor all personally to get the gunk off my phone.

Merely if it works information technology works!

Do not use nailpolish remover. Its active ingredient is acetone, at verying strengths. Information technology volition swallow through the case of your phone, maybe not completely, but it will ruin the finish most likely.

Idk, try it and see? If you lot have a white phone that might be different plastic from the grey one.

If you have the box it came in it should say something most how to get information technology off incase you glue your fingers together.

I tried the vegetable oil (well actually canola oil) and it did seem to break downwardly the glue a little. I thought about finger blast smooth but didn't want to risk it. I also used my new knife which is very abrupt to scrape some of information technology off. Between those two things and zagg wipes it got nigh of it off. I am certain over time the rest will wear off. Cheers guys

Regular is all the same watered down acetone... Information technology will take the same effect if you lot concord it there long. The nailpolish remover won't cook through fingernail considering your nails are not made out of plastic, non because information technology's diluted.

If I told you ninety% rubbing alcohol melts plastic (usually doesn't), would you endeavour 70%?

Idk, maybe y'all would. I wouldn't.

Regular is notwithstanding watered down acetone.

They do make non-acetone nail polish remover, which usually contains ethyl acetate. Simply it also doesn't intermission down super glue very well. At to the lowest degree not for the corporeality of fourth dimension I applied it to super glue.

Acetone won't swallow the plastic if merely exposed for a brusk time, merely might etch or haze the surface, ruining the appearance.

I see.. guess I've never bought non-acetone nailpolish before.

I once tried to remove a painted logo from my monitor when I was younger using nailpolish remover and it started eating through the plastic after a short while. That's why I was cautioning against it.

Information technology just happened to be what my wife had around when I made a super mucilage mess. And like I said, it didn't really help!

Probably depends on the type of plastic. Some chemicals will start to etch or cook some types of plastic almost instantly, only no other types of plastics. Smash polish remover comes in plastic bottles, afterward all!

Of grade if yous don't know what the result will be, its best to presume the worst.

Hehe, guess that's true, information technology does come in a plastic bottle. Information technology would be an interesting experiment for someone who has their hox disasembled to meet if nailpolish remover eats the within of their trounce.

To clairify, no, I still don't. As red said there are different kinds of plastic. The kind I tried actually was eaten by nailpolish remover. The nailpolish remover that does non contain acetone didn't work for ruddy at all.

I would be more than worried aabout the super gum melting tthe plastic more then I will the standard finger nail polish remover. Take you ever tried to glue sure kinds of plastic together with super mucilage? It melts some plastics. Anyways exercise whatever floats you're gunkhole. Like I said it didn't melt my phone so yea... Lol have a squeamish 24-hour interval folks!

FYI - Acetone will dissolve some plastics like polystyrene, polycarbonate, polypropylene. The canteen it comes in is HDPE. AFAIK the trunk of the One X is polycarbonate.

Guys, try Bio Oil. It doesn't break downwardly the glue like acetone, simply it seems to soften it and lift it and so you can use friction (fingertip) to remove information technology. Common sense tips - a tiny drop goes a long manner and start closer to the centre of the screen if you can.
